How it Works
Each service has its own basic start up process; however, a basic outline of the process is listed below.

Step One:

Fill out the contact form below with your information and select the therapy of interest.

T
he provider will contact you directly via email to answer any questions and to provide you with the clinic forms to get started with care.

Step Two:

Depending on the therapy chosen, the next step is typically obtaining blood work needed to develop your personalized care plan.

If you are a functional medicine patient, typically the provider visit comes first,
followed by the lab work. This allows the provider to assess your specific laboratory needs .

Step Three:

Meet with the provider for lab review, physical exam, and care plan options and development.

Depending on need, the provider visit may be conducted in clinic or via telemedicine.

A personalized care plan will be developed and you will begin therapy as a Precision Health Alaska Member.

Step Four:

A personalized care plan will be developed and you will begin therapy as a Precision Health Alaska Member. *Functional Medicine Patients are seen on an as needed basis and are not eligible for membership.

Membership includes all follow-up appointments, medication, supplies, and support

  • Does Precision Health Alaska take health insurance?
Precision Health Alaska does not bill, accept, or contract with any insurance companies; as such, payment is due at the time of service. The focus of a healthcare provider should be solely and clearly on the overall health and wellness of the patient, using all integrative means known, to help them achieve and maintain optimal health and not simply reduce illness. Insurance companies often set “one size fits all” policies on the treatments, therapies, or medications they allow, sometimes excluding what would be best for an individual patient in favor of a cheaper option. Accordingly, Precision Health Alaska has elected to remain clear of the financial relationship between you and your insurance company. Because Precision Health Alaska remains “Out-of-Network,” prices can be kept low. We strive to remain as cost-effective as possible. Some patients have utilized their HSA/FSA accounts for services. Coverage is not guaranteed and patients must contact their insurance for details.
  • What type of medical professional will oversee my care?
Precision Health Alaska's provider, Dr. Cari S. Miller, DNP, MPH, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Samford University, a Master's in Public Health Practice from the University of Alaska, and is specially trained in testosterone replacement and optimization, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapies, anti-aging and regenerative medicine, weight loss treatment, and functional medicine.
  • What medical conditions / health concerns does Precision Health Alaska help with?
Precision Health Alaska is focused on the complementary delivery of wellness care that can directly or indirectly support healthy aging and disease treatment/prevention. Precision Health Alaska does not consult minors under the age of 18, provide primary care, or manage emergent conditions. Precision Health Alaska Providers will evaluate and prescribe cutting-edge therapies to support several areas of health and wellness. Therapies include: Hormone Replacement Therapy Testosterone Replacement and Optimization for Men Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women Thyroid Optimization Sexual Health Therapies Erectile Dysfunction Therapy Peptide Therapies Athletic Performance Improvement Anti-Aging Support Energy Improvement Therapies Weight Loss Vitamin and Nutrient Replacement Functional Medicine / Root Cause Testing and Support Natural and Wellness Support for Chronic Conditions
  • How old do you have to be for services?
Minor patients are accepted on a case-by-case basis; however, most must be at least 18 years of age. Precision Health Alaska does not offer pediatric primary care services.
  • Do you work with men and women?
Precision Health Alaska offers custom treatment plans for men and women including hormone replacement therapy, peptide therapies, sexual health enhancement, medical weight loss, and functional medicine.
  • May I get a copy of my prescription and/or have it filled at another pharmacy?
Precision Health Alaska has partnered with preferred FDA regulated pharmacies with pre-negotiated rates and excellent customer service. The prescription therapies are compounded by the pharmacy patient specific and must go through our pharmacy network.
  • Where do I pick up prescriptions?
Most prescriptions are mailed directly to your address for your convenience. Sometimes medications which require mixing or injection are picked up in clinic initially, so the provider can give mixing or administration instruction.
  • Are all medications compounded in the USA by FDA regulated pharmacies?
Yes, all prescription medications come from select partner compounding pharmacies located within the United States. All pharmacies utilized are registered 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies and are regulated by the FDA.
  • Is hormone replacement therapy safe?
Hormone replacement therapy is not only safe, it can be life saving. Current research shows having optimal hormones through the later stages of life can improve quality of life and extend the lifespan in otherwise healthy adults. *This is a generalized statement and must not be taken as individual medical advice. Always consult a licensed provider before starting any hormone therapy program.
  • Is hormone therapy (HRT, TRT, TOT, BHRT) right for me?
Hormone therapy of any kind requires an individualized approach, including lab work and a one-on-one consultation with a licensed provider. Your lab work results and the consultation with the provider will determine if you qualify and what YOUR BEST treatment course of action is.
  • What is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) or testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?
Hormone replacement therapy is a medical treatment that uses natural molecularly similar hormones to restore hormone levels to those found in people who are biologically young. BHRT and TRT has many uses, including treatments for symptoms of low testosterone in men and symptoms of peri-menopause/menopause in women.
  • What are signs you need hormone replacement therapy?
Hormonal imbalances happen to many men and women as a result of bodily changes which come with age, such as menopause in women and andropause in men. Unfortunately, the aging process impacts our ability to produce and adequately maintain healthy hormone levels. This can lead to symptoms, such as weight gain, hair loss, low sex drive, depression, mood swings, brain fog, erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, an inability to maintain muscle, and much more. For many people, these changes are just accepted and left untreated causing a diminished quality of life and can ultimately negatively affect lifespan.
  • How do I make an appointment?
The best way is to submit the online contact form and you will be contacted directly with answers to your questions or concerns. You may also call or text the clinic at (907)921-9226. If we are with a patient or unable to answer right away, leave a voicemail and your call/text will be returned ASAP.
